Composites can combine traditional materials with new materials to result in improved performance. Composite systems of concrete and reinforcing media allow for lower weight and easier to handle concrete wall panels. These panels can provide the same range of physical properties and the durability of a full concrete system at a significantly reduced weight. The lower weight will typically result in a lower cost sub-structure and structural support system.
THiN-Wall is a structural load bearing, precast sandwich wall building envelope system that features composite action between concrete wythes. The system enables a very energy efficient building with edge-to-edge EPS or XPS insulation without thermal bridges and uses less concrete than traditional structural wall panels. Insulated Sandwich Panel Connectors are thermally non-conductive, non-corrosive, fiber composite connectors with a minimum tensile strength of 110,000 psi. The reinforced composite connector transfers horizontal shear between the inner and outer concrete layers to allow structurally composite wall panel behavior.

CarbonCast® is an innovative technology that uses C-GRID® epoxy-coated carbon fiber composite grid for reinforcing and shear transfer. As a result, CarbonCast precast enclosure systems can be lighter, stronger and more durable than other building systems. Innovative CarbonCast Enclosure Systems for commercial exteriors and CarbonCast Double Tees for parking garages with C-GRID carbon fiber grid creates a fully structurally composite section between inner and outer wythes for thinner and/or taller insulated sandwich wall panels, requires about 1/4" of concrete cover to prevent moisture-induced corrosion and controls shrinkage cracks up to 50 percent more.
